To be able to make an informed decision on which rootstock to use, the following due diligence needs to be done:
Climatic study of your farm
Water quality and quantity (water analysis)
Disease status of the soil (nematodes and Phytophthora)
Soil classification and soil chemical analysis
The cultivar to be planted
Compatibility/Incompatibility with the cultivar
